BOFE Labor Law Violations

So let’s say that there is a labor law violation that you wish to report and you are within the time restraints to file. What happens next? There are many procedures involved with processing a labor law violation to BOFE. First of all, you must sign, date, and submit the official violation form for evaluation. This can be a time consuming process, but hang tight and you will receive the outcome that you were hoping for. If BOFE believes that your report is a candidate for investigation, it will be assigned to an investigator. From there, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement will make an employer cease any violations of the law that they find through the investigation. If wages were not paid in proper accordance, they will require that the employer pays what they promised. The BOFE form is one of the most important parts of the process and so, if you believe that there was a violation, you should file immediately. The last step is knowing where to file your Report of Labor Law Violation. You can file it through the mail or in person with the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement office. You should find the BOFE that works in the city where the work was performed or the violation occurred, if possible. Remember: It cannot be filed electronically or by fax.
